COMMUNITY GLOW

A few weeks ago, we shared Ashley’s story and the fundraiser created to support her as she faces breast cancer. Since then, good people from all around have continued to show exactly what community looks like.

Pleasant Ridge Candle Co recently partnered with Jarvis Family Dental to pour 100 candles at no cost, raising $1,000 in less than 24 hours for Ashley and her family. Jarvis Family Dental covered the supplies, while Pleasant Ridge Candle Co donated the time and craftsmanship — turning a simple candle into something much more meaningful. 🕯️❤️

It’s another reminder that when someone in Norfolk needs help, people step forward in remarkable ways. If you would still like to support Ashley directly, her GoFundMe remains open.

DINNER CLUB

Our second Dinner Club was a huge success! Strangers became tablemates, conversations flowed, and another great evening of food and connection unfolded right here in Norfolk. MAPLE SYRUP

This week, I tapped the three maple trees on my property — a simple reminder that one of Canada’s sweetest traditions can start right in your own backyard. It doesn’t take much: a few taps, some buckets, and the right weather, with freezing nights and mild daytime temperatures helping the sap flow. Even just a handful of mature maple trees can produce enough sap to make a small batch of syrup, and there’s something satisfying about watching it happen yourself. If you have maple trees on your property, you can do it too 🍁. And if not, spring is also a great time to support local producers across Norfolk County, where fresh maple syrup is being made the traditional way right now.
